Web based Tech Talk

#1

Post by dstovall-p40 »

What about hosting a web based tech talk or posting video of previous tech talks for those of us who could not make it in person. If you did it web based you could take questions via a chat server and stream video.

Just something I would like to see.

I'll second that motion! Seems bloggers' notes are the closest I ever get to Tech Talks...

(Thanks to the More Good Foundation for those notes)

We have actually decided to look into this idea. I don't know to what extent. We may start out with a simple chat session where everyone can join in and ask the speaker a question and he will answer them. But we may get more sophisticated and have it streamed via video feed.

What about using a commercially available product like AT&T Web Conferencing or Microsoft Live Meeting as a way to broadcast the webinar?

We will definitely look at various methods to broadcast it. I'm interested in trying various technologies so that we cover the widest range of audiences as possible.
