Unauthorized?

#1

Post by zaneclark »

I was helping a member today set up an LDS Account. Everything went smoothly, she was able to sign in and her name appeared at the top of the page, but when trying to open the directory, a screen came up saying she was unauthorized to open the page. The same happened with each item in the tools menu. I have never had this happen where you can sign in ok but not be allowed to see any tools.... Any idea on a remedy?

That is strange. Is she certain she entered her MRN to create a member account. I don't know whether or not a non-member LDS Account would allow you to sign in to LDS.org. Just for surety I would have her check to see if she has entered her MRN.

Have you tried finding your answer on the ChurchofJesusChrist.org Help Center or Tech Wiki?

Sign in to lds.org, yes. Non-members can use the scripture marking tools. But they won't be able to use any of the "ward" tools like directory or calendar. I'll bet she didn't enter her MRN.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

That was it..she was entered as a non-member. The only link I could open under tools was Account Settings and it noted that she was entered as a non-member but gave the option to easily change this. Evidently non-members do have a limited access to the Tools menu... Thank you both for your fast response....
