Email out the Newsletter

#1

Post by nyeung »

Hi,

Is there any plans on creating an email out the newsletter feature? Or providing an API to access the newsletter data so I can develop the email feature.

Sincerely,
Nathan

I don't know of any plans, but a similar question was raised during the beta in the thread Suggestion to integrate email notification of newsletter update. Also, see the help topic on Sending Broadcast E-mails, which indicates that a notification feature might be added in the future.

I'm kind of surprised the newsletter doesn't already have this. The calendar app lets you subscribe to group calendars so you can be notified when, say, the YM post something to their calendar or the RS posts to their calendar. Why isn't the same technology used for the newsletter?

[Moderator note: This was originally posted to the thread Suggestion to integrate email notification of newsletter update in the Beta Newsletter forum section. As requested in this post, now that the Newsletter is not in beta, posts should be made in the Newsletter forum section. Thus I moved this post to a relevant thread in that section.]

See my earlier answer on this topic.
