EQP Access to Publish Articles -- Not Working
The blog article (found at http://tech.lds.org/blog/517-newsletter-a-new-tool-now-available-on-ldsorg-for-publishing-local-unit-news) states the following under Rights and Roles:
"Publishers can write and edit articles only. Default publishers for the newsletter include the high priest group leader, elders quorum president, Primary president, Relief Society president, Sunday School president, Young Men president, and Young Women president."
I am the EQP in my ward, but I do not see any option to publish as explained above. I have looked for a + New Article option, as mentioned in the help section, but cannot see it. I also cannot see any option to edit existing articles. I am in CDOL as Elders Quorum President.
Any ideas?

Have your unit administrators created any categories? I suspect that if they have not then you cannot create a new article. I am including a screen shot of a portion of the Newsletter page for an administrator. I have circled in red where you should find the New Article link. On the right side is where you should see the categories in which articles have been published.

Can any other organization presidents in your unit submit or edit articles?

It's possible that your position is not recorded as a standard calling in MLS. This is likely if your ward has more then one Elder's Quorum.wertdl wrote:I'm suspecting that EQP's are not really enabled to publish articles.
I'd check with your ward clerk to see if you are recorded correctly.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

I verified that I am in a standard calling, and have been all along. I probably should have mentioned that I have rights to update lesson schedules and create events on a calendar I created for the EQP position.

Although the documentation states that an EQP should have publisher rights by default, this doesn't seem to be the case right now. Hopefully that will be rectified in the future. But in the meantime, any Newsletter administrator in your ward can manually add the calling of EQP as a publisher. That should give you the rights you should have already had, so you can do the work you need to do while you're waiting for the application to be fixed.wertdl wrote:I verified that I am in a standard calling, and have been all along. Thanks. That was my suspicion.

I believe that admins may be having the same issues as publishers as the website admin for our ward the admin option hasn't been available to me yet. It doesn't look like the bugs are worked out yet. Today the newsletter page just says error loading page.aebrown wrote:Although the documentation states that an EQP should have publisher rights by default, this doesn't seem to be the case right now. No, at least for most admins, the Newsletter is working properly. And I've seen no evidence that there is a general problem for publishers -- this thread only deals with problems one Elders Quorum president was having.pierce1of5 wrote:I believe that admins may be having the same issues as publishers
Are you sure that you have the correct standard calling of "Website Administrator"? Do you have admin rights to the Directory and Calendar? If not, check with your ward clerk to make sure he gives you the correct standard calling.pierce1of5 wrote:as the website admin for our ward the admin option hasn't been available to me yet.
I know that the Website Administrator in our ward indeed has admin rights to the Newsletter, so I don't think there's any general problem with admin rights for Website Administrators.

The Newsletter is working fine for me. Perhaps it had a temporary problem when you tried it. Is it still a problem for you? If so, what browser are you using?
