Hi. I've been the STS, as well as the membership specialist, for a stake in Mexico for the past 8 months and this week I got a call from the FHD wanting to know the details for the FHCD in our Stake. The issue was that the details they had had resulted in them calling the FHCD that was called three persons ago. Gave them the correct details and went to pursue the "error". Read the thread https://tech.lds.org/forum/showthread.p ... rd-calling but still have issues.
In CDOL when you look up our stake and expand the "show all callings" link and expand the "other callings" bullet indeed you can find the FHCD but in orange. Of course this means that it has been placed as a personalized calling. Now, if you lookup the Family History Center in the Stake and look under "Callings" you can find the person that was called three persons ago, albeit in black meaning that it is a standard calling.
In MLS went to "Organizations" then "Other callings" and a personalized calling was filled out with the proper details. Nevertheless, looking for the calling in "Organizations" then "Family History" I cannot find however I go at it the FHCD calling. What I have noticed is that there are TWO seperate entries called "Stake Family History Leader". I'm wondering if when translating MLS to Spanish the FHCD calling was mistankingly placed as a duplicate of Stake family history leader.
anybody got a clue on what is happening?

You might want to review the long thread FHC Director standard calling, although some of the information in it is somewhat dated at this point.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

Actually the link I provided in my original post is the thread you mention. I've also read another thread regarding standard callings in MLS and a couple of workarounds for "finding" standard callings that were not appearing in the regular MLS windows.aebrown wrote:You might want to review the long thread FHC Director standard calling, although some of the information in it is somewhat dated at this point.
Since I'm at the stake level, the FHCD (without the referenced "stake" nominer) is at the stake level, and the FHC subdirector is available as a standard calling in said stake MLS, it therefore follows that I should be able to see the FHCD or even just director.
I do see that Stake Family History Leader appears two times and I wonder if one of them is actually the FHCD but got "lost" in translation.

Well... after several calls to various persons in GSC Salt Lake I found someone willing to explain what needed to be done to have the FHC Director calling in CDOL correctly. As aebrown pointed out in the thread FHC Director standard calling the calling is not necesarily found in the Stake MLS. This was our case here in our unit in Mexico.
In order to have the calling correctly in CDOL we needed to send the appropriate information to Bro. Edgard Lopez in Salt Lake. He then sends the information to a sister in charge of these specific cases and the information gets updated.
IMHO this is a very convoluted process that needs to be changed.

Perhaps the underlying problem is that a FHC is another unit.

FamilySearch support encourages all new FHC Directors to call them so they can get the properly listed in CDOL, and get them the information they need.
Access https://www.familysearch.org/help section --> Select Contact FamilySearch --> Select Click here to Call US --> Select your region of the world for numbers.
