Any way to add attachments to calendar event?
I'm currently the communication's specialist for my ward. We would like to email all subscribed users a copy of the Sacrament Meeting Program. I was hoping to create a "Sacrament Meeting Event" and than include an attachment of the program. I was than hoping that when the email notification was sent out, ward members could view the sacrament program as part of the attachment. Is there any way this can be done? If not, is there another way to use the ward website to email all registered or subscribed users a copy of the program each week?

Files cannot be attached to the Calendar or to Directory e-mails. Others have suggested using the Newsletter application (still in beta and not a menu item link on the Tools menu on LDS.org). Newsletter articles can include attachments. You could send a broadcast e-mail with the URL to the Newsletter and have the article pinned as a feature article.mmarx wrote:I'm currently the communication's specialist for my ward. The documentation suggests a way to use a URL to an uploaded file in Attaching fliers to events.

Newsletter is available for all to use now even though it is in beta. It just has not been added to the list of applications in the LDS.org Tools menu. Once it is in full release it will be added to the Tools menu.

That's a question on the Newsletter, not the Calendar (you posted this in the Calendar forum).mmarx wrote:Thanks for the information. My question is when will the newsletter application be available for all to use and is it possible for me to use it still in beta?
The latest status update on the Newsletter can be found here; post any follow up questions regarding the Newsletter to a thread in that forum.

Attachments AND links would be fabulous.LisaAn wrote:We've looked at adding attachments to calendar events and it's being considered for a future release of calendar. Thanks.
In that way the girls camp calendar "event" could have the flyer attached, and a link to the newsletter article that discusses it, essentially "linking" all of the info together.... the newsletter may have additional links to a packing list, permission slip, event listing. etc., all would be accessible from the calendar event if you could attached and link....
The OP'ers idea, make a calendar event for sacrament meeting, then LINK to a newsletter article that contains the program, or attach a copy of the program.
It's got my vote.
