Update directory on lds.org

Update directory on lds.org
I have a new family that moved into the ward and the husband passed away prior to moving into the ward. We have their records in MLS and it doesn't show his name, but when looking at the ward directory on lds.org his name exists. I've been asked to remove his name from the directory on lds.org, but I'm not sure I can do that. Please let me now next steps to update the records on lds.org.

I'd call Local Unit Support. There are two possibilities. First, that his record has not yet been properly marked as deceased and so the directory is treating it as a divorced or non-member husband.
Failing that, you'll have to get LUS to "have the record suppressed".
In either case, it appears all you can do is make the call.
