Switching between documents

#1

Post by greggo »

My mother-in-law is using a Kindle (classic) to read scriptures; however she finds it very cumbersome and ineffective for use when looking up references during Sunday lessons. I showed her how my iPhone version of the Gospel Library App is very easy to create separate reference "windows" and switch back and forth between them. She would like to upgrade to a tablet with the LDS Gospel Library App, but doesn't want to spend the extra $$$ for an iPad.

I assumed that the App would function similarly between the different platforms (iOS, Kindle Fire, Nook, etc.), but when I tried it on a Nook there didn't appear to be any way to open up multiple documents at the same time and easily switch between them (unless I'm just not seeing it).

Does anyone know if there is indeed this functionality on the Nook or the Kindle Fire (or any other reader I may be unaware of)?

Unfortunately no, not on the Android version of GL, and we all agree, it's a huge pain. It needs to be the next GL feature implemented ASAP.

Multiple Windows Open on iPad2 Gospel Library

#4

Post by tmduffy »

I have been using the Gospel Library app on my iPad2 for a few weeks. The Help is limited and there doesn't appear to be any type of detailed User Manual. Is it possible to open the Book of Mormon and my Sunday School manual at the same time? If so, how?

How to keep two documents open in the iOS app

Ted, the way to do this is press the icon in the lower left that has two squares. this gives you two separate windows that you can quickly navigate to and switch between. of course, this is not exactly a split window. you must press the double square button and select the manual you want. however, I find it very effective for keeping two or more books open and swapping between them. I have an iPad 3, so I don't know if it certainly works on iPad to
