Curriculum - What stays and what goes?

We are cleaning out years of accumulated debris in our Ward library and have a number of old books and manuals that I don't want to throw away if they remain useful. Is there a list of what Curriculum materials remain constant and what is generally replaced each year?

I'm not sure of a good answer, but you could check the store. If it's not listed in the store, then it's probably obsolete.

Speaking only of curriculum, have you look at the "Information for Priesthood and Auxiliary Leaders on Curriculum: 2009 THROUGH 2012"?
It tells which manuals are cycled through for the last four year time period. You might assume anything used during that time may once again be used in the next four year cycle, but we don't have that information yet. Anything not used in the past four year cycle, may or may not be used yet again.

That's a very good point. I had looked at that before but I think you're correct that it is going to be the best proxy for a forward-looking list. Much appreciated.

Instructions for Curriculum 2012 will give you a fairly complete list. Then, as kisaac said, be sure to keep the other three years in each of the series in case they are used again.

There's another page somewhere that has the 'starter' kit listing of materials for meetinghouse libraries. Whatever's in that should remain.

One thing that should remain regardless is any and all conference issues you find even if they are older than the 10 years that some other places say you should keep. Old conference issues are valuable for things that some may want to use.

Keep any sheet music as that was paid for, mostly but not always, out of budget funds, and it is intended that music can be kept in the Meetinghouse Library for use by any wards in that building or the stake that building is in. Many arrangements that may be found are of the standard hymns in the hymnbook. A good arrangement of a hymn can be a great addition to a meeting.
