Child of Record who is 21 years old

#1

Post by sethington »

What do we do with a Child of Record who is 21 years old and not baptized? For some reason they are showing up and needed to be visit taught. This record shouldn't be showing up on the visiting teaching list. Parents are members but not active.

How do we fix this issue.

You can find your answer in the Handbook or the Wiki:

"A person who is nine years or older who has a membership record but has not been baptized and confirmed is not considered a member of record. However, the bishop keeps the membership record until the person is 18. At that time if the person chooses not to be baptized despite being given every opportunity, the bishop, with written permission from the stake president, may cancel the membership record. He should not, however, cancel membership records of persons not considered accountable because of mental disabilities."

I don't see a problem in having them listed as needing to be VT. Unlike HT which is done by families, VT is by individual. Can you find a reference that says she doesn't need to be VT? But long-term, I think your answer is listed above.
