Resetting security token

#1

Post by aclawson »

Is there any way to get a security token reset on the weekends? With work and other obligations eliminating 2 days from the possible time to swap in a new computer is a major difficulty.

I've swapped out 6 PC's now and never needed to have a security token reset.

Here's what I did...

You can always request the reset beforehand. Just make sure no one does a send/receive on the old computer before you get the new one setup.

If the old PC is running Windows XP, then the folder you want will be "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\LDS Church".

I had originally made an error in step 3 that was caught in a later post. I just went back made the correction, so it should be right now.

If it's a Windows 7 machine, it's there. You just can't see it. It won't appear in explorer, but if you type it, it will work.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So to clarify, move the entire directory

(on XP machine) c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\LDS Church\*.*
(on Windows 7 ) c:\ProgramData\LDS Church

?

That's correct. Just make sure all the sub-folders are included too.

I usually do it via flash drive.
