Special Characters display for calender entries

#1

Post by gxwheel »

Background:
I am stake executive secretary in Düsseldorf, Germany. Our stake is trying to implement the LDS.org calender (and directory) in our stake. I have worked for over 15 years in IT-Consulting.

I will send this same message to the LDS Feedback site. But sometime there is some detailed information here.

I could not find related threads via search.

Our Pain in Europe:
We have seen the following problem with All-Day events via LDS Tools on mobile
devices

Setup:
Create a calender
Title: Gen. Konf. - Übertragung (or anything with a special character, such as ä, ü, Ü, é, ú, etc.)

Steps to recreate:
Open LDS Tools using a mobile device

Problem Description:
A string of characters such as: "&todrg" is displayed in place of the special character, e.g., "Ü"

Any news on this issue is appreciated. :)

This is a known problem and has been rectified, in the hopefully soon to be released, version of LDS Tools IOS version. I don't know if this affects other mobile platforms of LDS Tools. Each version is worked on by different volunteer teams.

I believe it was submitted for approval last weekend (IOS ver.). So subject to no major problems being encountered, possibly by the end of the week! (Fingers crossed)

The new version (iOS) is great. I did notice a few things, but not major things.

I am testing the special characters tonight.

This works for the Special characters in the German language. Great Fix.
