Big Changes in Login and Registration

Please take note:

We have decided to move the login from the home page of beta.tech.lds.org to the forum section (top right hand corder of the forum nav bar). The reasons we decided to do this are:

1. We had had several people complain about having a problem where they log in to the home page but when they go to the forums, they are no longer logged in. The reason this was happening was that we are bridging the login between two systems (Joomla and vBulletin). Occasionally that bridge would fail. It could fail when logging in but it could also fail during registration. This would explain why some people could never log in to the forums until we would run a "sync" operation. Until we figure out the problem, we will just remove the login to the home page as it was not that beneficial.
2. The registration process that we will be moving to is more robust within the forum software.
3. The forum login is more secure.

What does all of this mean to you? Not much, other than on the home page you will no longer see a login section. To login to the forums, you must go to the forum link on the home page.

This change will be implemented tomorrow (Thursday, February 1st).
