I am a very new stake clerk. I was contacted by one of our auditors with a problem. He audited a ward, but due to a technical issue, the ward's computer is unable to go online to access the audit site. He filled out an audit form by hand, and is now wondering what to do. He proposed the following options:
1) Wait until our Stake Technology Specialist gets the problem resolved, then go back and enter the results. It's not clear how long it will take to resolve the issue.
2) Use another ward's computer to enter the audit information.
3) Enter the information from home, and have the Bishop digitally sign from his home computer.
As far as I know, this is the first time our stake is using the online process for audits. I was called to this position after the current round of audits began. I really don't have any knowledge about the online process and I havent' been able to find much information on the wiki. Are any of these solutions viable? Is there a best solution above, or is there another alternative that is better? Is mailing in the form still an option if our stake has been switched over to the online method?

That's certainly an option at this point, but of course you wouldn't want to wait so long that you miss the audit submission deadline.bedone wrote:1) Wait until our Stake Technology Specialist gets the problem resolved, then go back and enter the results. Those are certainly viable options; they're essentially the same option -- using a different computer.bedone wrote:2) Use another ward's computer to enter the audit information.

The LUFAS help system says:
So you can indeed use any computer you'd like; the ward's computer is generally most convenient, but if that's not an option for you, go to Plan B.If I do the audit online, do I have to use the computer at the local unit where the audit is being conducted? Although it is not required, it is strongly recommended that the auditor use the computer of the unit he is auditing. This is the most efficient way for him to enter the responses to the audit questions and the details of the selected financial transactions. It is also the easiest way for the bishop to enter the action plans required to correct any audit exceptions and to sign the audit.
The stake audit committee chairman and the stake president can sign audits electronically at any computer available to them, if the computer has a high-speed connection to the Internet.

Yes, that's an option. Again, from the help system:
Do I have to perform all local unit audits using LUFAS, or can I continue to do them manually? You can continue to perform audits manually, using the paper audit forms in the Member and Leader Services (MLS) system.
