The GSC is out for the next couple hours, our firewall has become unresponsive. Any ideas?

You probably already tried this, but a simple power cycle (turn it off, wait a minute, turn it back on) has been known to fix this kind of problem. Once you turn it back on, it takes 2-3 minutes to start up and reestablish its connection with the cable or DSL modem.

It's also good to narrow down the problem -- plug a computer directly in the cable or DSL modem to make sure that it is up and working, too. If that works, and the firewall doesn't come back to life, then it's probably the firewall. But make sure in your testing that you plug directly into the firewall with an Ethernet cable to make sure that no other components (switches, WAPs, etc.) are causing problems.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

I tried all you noted earlier. This time I left the firewall off for about 3 minutes, then turned on the modem, then the firewall, then plugged in each of the connections into the firewall, it appears we are back in business. Thanks.

For others who come across this thread you should also note that a cable modem (and a few DSL bridges/routers) will usually only allocate 1 IP address (for your firewall or router) and will memorize the device. If you power cycle your firewall and have a cable modem you should power cycle it too especially if you played around with the Ethernet cables.
