Member cannot test Lesson Schedule Program

#1

Post by raleighj »

The invitation email states: "Members are invited to test out the beta Lesson Schedules application and provide feedback."
However as a member without an administrative assignment (just a teacher) there are no options for me. My page names my Unit, gives a box for the date, but nothing else, no links that work, nothing. Why?

An administrator in your unit has to first define classes and lessons. The developers don't have time to do that for every unit (and they don't know what to put in anyway). You could ask a clerk, executive secretary or bishopric member in your unit to get involved and together you could try it out from both perspectives.

The invite was poorly worded. The beta is only open to individuals who hold the callings necessary to use the tool. It's not open to the general membership. AFAIK, teachers do not have the ability to make changes in the system.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

The invitation could have been worded better, but the beta is indeed open to the general membership. It won't be interesting to a regular member until an administrator in his ward sets up classes and adds schedules, but a ward could definitely have a coordinated test where administrators, teachers, and regular members all participate and provide feedback. It's more likely that administrators will do most of the beta testing, but people with those other roles are welcome to participate.

Not true. Teachers can indeed make changes, once administrators set up the classes. See Adding lesson schedules.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.
