"Send a Message" -- Message footer garbled

#1

Post by dgbarker »

I sent a message today to ward members using the "Send a Message" feature. The message footer is garbled in the email that was sent:
???leader-messages.email.footer.disclaimer.received???
???leader-messages.email.footer.disclaimer.from???
???leader-messages.email.footer.disclaimer.calling???

???leader-messages.email.footer.disclaimer.unsubscribe1???
???leader-messages.email.footer.disclaimer.unsubscribeURL???
???leader-messages.email.footer.disclaimer.unsubscribe2??? ???leader-messages.email.footer.disclaimer.unsubscribe3??? ???leader-messages.email.footer.disclaimer.unsubscribe4???
For previous messages, the footer used to say:
You have received this email because you have made your email address available to your local Church leaders.
It was sent from: Bishop [Name]
Whose calling is: Bishop
To un-subscribe from future email messages from ward or stake members follow
https://lds.org/directory click on "My Family" then click on "Edit Profile" and remove your email address from your profile. If you are not a head of household you may ask your parent/guardian to edit your profile or you may also contact your ward clerk and ask him to remove your email address from MLS.
Is this an issue anyone else is aware of?

I assume this was from the website, but was it the Classic LUWS or the new features added to the lds.org directory? Since you mention prior, I'm guessing it's LUWS.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

No. This is happening from the "Send a Message" link on lds.org/leader. We'll see what kind of angry responses I get. (This just happened to me too.)

Hope it's fixed soon.

We're having that problem too. We're definitely not using Classic LUWS. Any word on progress? Thanks.

The messages still go out but they look pretty messy..... Dod anyone report this to feedback? It would be nice to get it cleaned up....

Can anyone give a firm date as to when this started happening? I've been trying to find out if anything changed that might have caused this, but the messaging application has been virtually untouched for months and months.

I'll continue looking for a cause for this problem.

I guess I can start out:

Last Successful Message sent without garbled text: Tue, Nov 29, 2011 at 5:52 PM
First Message with Garbled Text: Wed, Dec 21, 2011 at 6:25 PM

(I only send messages using the messaging once or twice a month. I did not send any messages between the above two times).

I'm sure with a few more people posting when they saw the problem that will help zero in on a day/time.
