Previously the Stake had to enter the lesson schedule for the Priesthood and Relief Society lessons for the calendar year... noting when teachings for our time would be, and account for sundays of stake conference, etc...
I'm not seeing where we, the stake, do this on the new lds.org. Any help?
thanks

This feature is currently not available on the new lds.org. See this thread for more.
This thread is also a good discussion of items under development, but realize the first post is from Jan 2011, so it's an older thread.

No, that is not correct. There is a clear answer, which was linked to previously.colbyj wrote:So the answer is there is no answer, correct?
It doesn't seem to me to be all that confusing, as long as you don't have a false expectation that the ward and stake websites have moved. There is only one place for ward and stake websites at this point -- the place it has always been, currently called "Classic Ward and Stake Websites". That's where members should go for all functions they have always gone there for, except for two: there are new modules for the directory and calendar functions. Those can be linked to from the calendar and directory links on the classic site if the stake is using the new modules (which is recommended) and the stake administrator has enabled that redirection.colbyj wrote:For 2012, we should use the classic version as per previous years and direct members of the stake to this feature. Pretty confusing for members to have to jump back and forth between the old and the new...
I'll agree that the linkage could be a bit tighter, but this is a necessary step during the transition period as new modules are created. However, the new model seems to be to have a looser linkage anyway. There is no link between the new Directory and the new Calendar; you have to go back to the Tools menu to get to one from the other. The remaining functions on the Classic ward and stake websites are accessed the same way.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

Entering Sunday lesson schedule
When I try to enter lessons in the classic site, the only option is to change lesson(s) for 2011. Am I doing something wrong or missing something? Or are we waiting for further developments?

So, if we turn off the Classic Calendar, and when members are logged into the Classic website and click to see the calendar, or the directory, it will go to the new calendar or directory automatically? That feature won't shut the whole Classic website off?
If so, I totally misunderstood what that meant by shutting the Classic off. I have been waiting to shut it off until all of our ward website admins had gotten their 2012 entries into the new calendar before shutting it off.
That would solve a lot of issues if this is the way it is. I would be happier about the new version and would be able to get the lessons on there and update new Missionaries we have going away soon. The members would be happier about it too!

Correct. We did this early in 2011. About a month after we turned off the classic calendar, we turned off the membership directory, and a few weeks later, the classic leadership directory.margiestroble wrote:So, if we turn off the Classic Calendar, and when members are logged into the Classic website and click to see the calendar, or the directory, it will go to the new calendar or directory automatically? We informed everyone that on a certain date (about a month in the future), we were going to turn off the classic calendar. We told them it was fine to use the classic calendar until then, but that they should have the new calender at LDS.org loaded for anything after the cutoff date we selected. On the announced date, we turned off the calendar portion of the classic site and any calendar request at the classic site redirected to the LDS.org calendar.margiestroble wrote:If so, I totally misunderstood what that meant by shutting the Classic off. You can "turn off" pieces of the classic site independently: the calendar, the membership directory, and the leadership directory. When you "turn off" a portion of the classic site, it will redirect to the LDSAccount sign in page, and then to the part of LDS.org that replaces the classic piece the member was trying to access.

I tried keeping up with the posts earlier this year but wasn't seeing much new, so I stopped checking. I missed the announced date, but noticed that all of a sudden, I couldn't approve of submissions or add anything new or make any changes to anything in the Classic for 2012. I could totally delete something though! None of the submissions went to the LDS.org calendar though.lajackson wrote:

Thank you so much. I will start doing that then and using the new versions of the membership and leadership for now and the rest when it's time. I appreciate your help.lajackson wrote:You can "turn off" pieces of the classic site independently: the calendar, the membership directory, and the leadership directory.
