an error has occur

when doing a send a receive transmission this error pops up. (an error occured while writing data to the database, while processing file "ces2mls." contact your stake clerk for assistance the stake clerk should contact support if he needs assistance to resolve the problem.

any thoughts?

That is the file that, among other things, updates your Seminary attendance information. You might call Local Unit Support to ask, but we usually ignore it unless it happens two weeks in a row.

Our stake financial clerk received the following message during a send/receive.

"An error occured while writing data to database while processing file "/mlsrmail/0527459 swapes 152159". The note said to let the tech specialist (me) know and that if I had a problem contact Church Headquarters.

Does this indicate a real problem?

Yes. I'd contact Local Unit Support.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

Here is the reply from local unit support. We had the same error message.

Thanks for your note about the MLS error message received by the xxxxxx Ward. The error was generated because the subject line was too long for the system. When anyone clicks to see the message, it is atuomatically restage for download and will become available later. No further action is required by you or the Ward.
