MLS Stake Leadership information not transferring to LDS.ORG

#1

Post by rmajors »

Last week we added a new Assistant Clerk - Technology Specialist and our Stake Clerk was called to be in a Bishopric. We updated MLS, but neither of these changes are being reflected in LDS.Org under the Stake Leadership ... the previous one is there and the new one is not. I understand that sometimes this can take a little time, but it has been several days.

We reviewed MLS and it looks correct, so we are at a loss of what we need to do to get the updates made.

Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

Forgive the questions if you've checked these, but
1) One change affects both the stake and unit MLS. Have the changes been made in both?
2) Are you using standard positions?
3) Have you done multiple send/receives?

I had an issue recently and a call to LUS fixed it. They set the CDOL to update from MLS on the next send/receive.

I can understand the stake clerk position taking a little longer because it is a tier 1 leadership position that must be submitted through a Leader and Unit Change Request (LUCR) form. While the LUCR can be submitted electronically through MLS it still must be reviewed before it is approved, thus adding more time. But as you said it has been a week, which appears to be longer than normal.

LDS.org is updated by way of the Church Directory of Organizations and Leaders (CDOL). That is the first place you can easily check to see if the data from MLS has been received and processed at CHQ. Step 3 in crislapi's list should help in this area. Then following RussellHltn's suggestion may help get CDOL updated.

Thanks based on your input we solved one of the problems. The Stake Technology person was put under a Custom position, we removed and then put him in with the Standard position. We uploaded and then the next day verified he had moved to CDOL and then to LDS.ORG.

We are having the problem though were the Old Stake Clerk continues to show in CDOL and LDS.ORG. We removed him from the Stake MLS system. Did the upload but he still shows in CDOL and LDS.Org.

I don't see that the change came up to CDOL, so I manually updated the old clerk. Let me know if doesn't look right.

Ryan... can I just say, it's nice to have you watching this board regularly :)

Typically if a change is made through the LUCR form... it is processed manually at the church and not automatically like all other callings. Like was mentioned earlier the Tier1 functions are treated differently. So while I have seen a typical 1 day turn-around when I've put in a new Bishop. I usually put the name in on Sunday, and check Tuesday morning. If I check Monday morning, I am often ahead of the process.

Monday mornings are by far the busiest and some of those changes do carry over.

We are working to reduce the number and kinds of changes that require upfront review. Hopefully it will get better.
