lds.org sign in java error

Every time I try signing in with my android tablet (Archos 7ht running android 2.1 eclaire) I get:

Error 500--Internal Server Error java.lang.NullPointerException

I never have trouble signing in from a computer browser. Is this a problem others are having? Any ideas how to fix this?

In case anybody else comes across this same issue, I think it is a problem with the browser in eclaire. I rooted the tablet with froyo and the problem went away. I then tried a different rom of eclaire and the problem was back. Now I'm going to put froyo back on to make it work again.

Possible solution: Try changing your default browser language to English

I got the following advice from an LDS Account Administrator:

Please try changing your default browser language to English.

Internet Explorer
1. Go to Tools.
2. Click on Internet Options.
3. Select Languages.
4. Click on the Add button and add the English (United States) language.
5. Mark the language English (United States) and click to Move up.
6. Click Ok.

Mozilla Firefox
1. Go to Options.
2. Click on Content tab.
3. Click on Choose, next to Languages.
4. Click on the Add button and add English (United States) language.
5. Mark the language English (United States) and click to Move up.
6. Click Ok.

It worked for me - hope it helps you too!
