network map of footnote relationships between books

Discussions about the Notes and Journal tool on LDS.org. This includes the Study Toolbar as well as the scriptures and other content on LDS.org that is integrated with Notes and Journal.

network map of footnote relationships between books

Many people have graphed their social-network with linkedin or facebook tools. http://inmaps.linkedinlabs.com/ creates a very cool map. I want to graph the relationship between scriptures using footnotes. To do this I would need a database or list of all footnotes. Possible to obtain?

With this information you could ask questions like: What book of the Book of Mormon does 1 Samuel contain the most footnotes to? Then you could see the striking relationship between 1. Sam 8 and Mosiah 29 in graphical format, and go investigate it in the scriptures.

I discovered it is possible to search footnotes on scriptures.lds.org (Awesome!)
See this example:
http://lds.org/scriptures/search?lang=eng&query=%221+sam%22&type=footnote&book=bofm/mosiah
However, it is not possible to search scriptures using 'Gospel Library Web Service':
http://tech.lds.org/wiki/Gospel_Library_Web_Service

I'd love to create a map which would allow people to zoom in on the relationships between books. It would be an amazing discovery tool, and good missionary tool.

Didn't mean to post this in "LDS.org Website" forum. Can someone move this to "Online Scriptures" or "General" etc.

As an example of the type of data/table that could be created by such a system see the following google docs:
1 Samuel referenced with Book of Mormon
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... n_US#gid=0
Book of Mormon referenced with 1 Samuel
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... n_US#gid=0

You will note that some chapters and verses are connected strongly with the Book of Mormon as they are repeated several times.

Any idea how I can download all of the footnotes with the intent to create a 'footnote network map'? Sort of like a social network map on FB or linkedIn?

Did you ever find a way to get the footnotes? This is something I'm pursuing as well.
