Android <--> LDS.org sync -- timeline?

#1

Post by jangerbauer »

Hi, I just made the switch from iPhone to Android. I downloaded Gospel Library and can now see that there are many differences in the functionality and development between the two OSs.

I am interested to know if there is any timeline or roadmap for implementing syncing annotations, notes, etc. between Gospel Library and LDS.org for Android. I did see on the Gospel Library for Android Wiki page:

https://tech.lds.org/wiki/Gospel_Librar ... _Wish_List

that the schema has been completed(?), however there is no additional information that I can find related to this.

Any details would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jaren

No response on this yet.....? I've posted in the iPhone (and other) forums in the past and have received fairly quick responses. Should I be posting this question elsewhere?

The LDSTech Forum is a community forum. Responses on this forum come if someone in the community happens to see your post and have something helpful to say on the topic. Sometimes you get quick responses, and sometimes you don't. It depends on the level of interest in your topic, and who happens to be active in the forum at the time you post your question.

There is no better place on LDSTech Forum to post your question. However, the Gospel Library support - Android wiki page says that "If you can't find the answer to your problem ... please email us at gospel-library-android-group@ldsmail.net." So that seems like a good option to try.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

Thanks -- I apparently missed the contact email, and will try that route.

Hi Jaren. I just saw your post and I'm wondering the same thing. Did you ever get an answer to your question?

Annotation sync for Android is being worked on right now. We hope to have a beta version out soon and a final release shortly after. The beta(s) will be sent out to everyone signed up for the project on LDSTech as they are available.

I might actually use the notes if it would port to my Android.
