Post by Allan_F »

Is there a quick way to transfer many records from one unit to another? Is this done using a gps code?

Thanks.

Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

Yes. From Clerk Wiki:

Move households to another ward after a boundary realignment

Use this option to move households from your ward to another after a boundary realignment. You can move all households from your ward to another ward in one operation instead of having to move them individually. However, this should be used only after a boundary realignment to assign households that were in your ward to their new ward.

From the Membership Records menu, click More. On the Moves menu, click Boundary Realignment.
In the Ward/Branch field, enter the official unit number and unit name of the ward or branch where you are moving the household records.
In the Stake/District field, enter the official unit number and unit name of the stake or district where you are moving the household records.
Click the check box beside each household record you want to move.
You can reach households by scrolling through the list or by entering the household name in the Find Household in List field.
When finished selecting each household to move to this new ward or branch, click Close.
The households will be assigned to the new ward the next time you use the Send/Receive Changes option. You may repeat this process for other wards to which you want to reassign records.

For YSA wards there is also a new method that allows you to move multiple records at the same time.

From the MLS 3.4 release notes:
Young Single Adult (YSA) and Student Wards Can Now Move Several Members (Move-ins or Move-outs) on One Screen in MLS. When YSA and student wards use the "Request Records" or "Move Records Out" feature in MLS, they now have a third choice in the window that appears, "Move Multiple Records." This allows the clerk to select the names of members that will be moved and enter their address and telephone information. Only YSA and student wards will have this feature available.
