Film Ordering Procedure at Local Family History Centers

#1

Post by techgy »

For those who are involved in Family History research the method of ordering a film is changing. The method that's been in place for decades has been to visit your local Family History Center (FHC) and place the order there. The film would then be delivered to that FHC.

Effective July 27, 2011 a new procedure is being implemented that will permit individuals to place film orders from their homes (or any computer). Using your LDS Account you would login to: https://www.familysearch.org/films/ and select a default FHC that you wish the films sent to.

The web site is up, but I've noticed that the FHC in our area isn't listed yet as a choice. It's possible that things won't be completely in place until July 27th.
Have you read the Code of Conduct?
