Inventory Manager 2.2

#1

Post by BarryHill »

As a FH Consultant I am stepping in to fill a void in our FHC. It has been open by appointment only for 2 years. I have made a lot of headway in setting up computers and upgrading software, plus throwing out 5 1/4" DOS diskettes.

One of my remaining issues is that when I try to start Inventory Manager I get "node" error. Of all the things in the FHC, the Inventory Manager installation disks are not there. Does anyone have an idea on the quickest fix for this. I have no idea if we have any inventory data even in the program but since we have hundreds of microfilm and tens of thousands of microfiche I hope it is in there. I do not want to lose any data.

Thanks

Barry

The "node" error is most likely related to the communication module. Originally it used dial-up, but the more recent versions can communicate over HTTPS. I would think that a reinstallation or upgrade would fix that problem.

I've installed Inventory Manager a couple of times from a CD. If you don't have the installation CD, I would think that you or your FHC Director could contact FH Support at 866-406-1830 and have a replacement CD sent out.

First of all, my heart goes out to you for "Filling in the Void". I am assuming that you do not have a Director called for your center? I am in Kentucky and am actually from Williamsport. I hope that the Global Service Desk people have installed the node for you and you are up and running for ordering film. If they haven't you need to call them at 866-678-2763. I hope that this helps.
