Ward Calendar and Daylight Savings Time

how do we get the ward calendar to reflect the times entered and not move the appointments to being an hour earlier when we switch to daylight savings time. Any recurring appointments are now showing the wrong time on the calendar.

I'm not seeing that problem with our stake and ward calendars. We have recurring events that began before 13 March 2011 at 2:00am (when most states in the US change to DST) and continue after that date, and yet the displayed time is consistent. Some questions:

1. Are you using the new calendar (at http://lds.org/church-calendar) or the old calendar on the classic ward and stake websites?
2. Do these recurring appointments show the wrong times for instances of the recurring events prior to March 13 as well, or are they correct up to March 13 and wrong afterwards?
3. Are you seeing these incorrect times in the main calendar display, or in synchronized calendars, such as Outlook or Google Calendar, or both?

I haven't noticed this problem (and I am in U.S. Central Time Zone). However, I speculate that 1 or 2 things might have occurred:

1. A recurring event from the old calendar was imported to the new calendar and didn't make the transition well.

2. The Daylight Savings code for the new calendar was updated at some point after the recurring event was entered and threw off the times for recurring events (or other events).

In either case my first attempt to fix the problem would be to delete the affected recurring events from the new calendar entirely, and then re-enter them to see if they negotiate the transition to and from Daylight Saving Time appropriately.

If that doesn't work, then I would likely use the feedback link at lds.org to report/describe the problem.

A member posts a calendar item at 10:30 at the new calendar, but I see it at 11:30. She sees all of the other appointments as though they were earlier by one hour. For example, she sees a scout activity listed at 3:00, but my wife and I both see them at 4:00.

It is as though the calendar program thinks she is in some other time zone, or perhaps it is measuring her computer's time zone?

It is most likely her computer time or time zone setting. Have her check her computer time and time zone. While she is at it she may want to see if her computer is set to adjust for daylight saving time if in an area that uses daylight saving time. For a Windows XP computer the Time Zone tab of the Date and Time applet in the Control Panel should have the "Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes" option checked.
