Relationship between ldsjob.org and MLS

#1

Post by kdsberg »

I am a newly called Ward Clerk, and I'm interested in understanding the relationship between these two systems. Does the information that is found in ldsjobs.org pull from MLS? I have a situation where a member of our ward is serving as a full-time missionary and needs that calling to show in ldsjobs.org in order to perform responsibilities in the mission field. MLS shows the correct calling. However, the member shows up as an employment specialist in ldsjobs.org and apparently doesn't have the privileges necessary to fulfill calling. Also, as a Ward Clerk, should I have certain privileges in ldsjobs.org as does our Bishop?

I'm not sure what the connection is, but many systems sync off of the CDOL which is updated from MLS. So the first step is to sign into http://cdol.lds.org and see if the callings for your ward are listed correctly.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

I just looked at ldsjobs and once you sign in you can 'Find tools and information to help you with your calling.' It looks like have the correct calling lets you request access, but for me as ward clerk the couldn't ward level option is disabled. I clicked on more info and see the following message.
By selecting this role, you will gain access to training and resources specific to your ward calling (ward employment specialist, bishopric member, or member of the ward welfare committee). Access will allow you to manage follow-up activities with those within your ward boundaries. Once you have created your account, employment resource center staff will grant you access to the site.
It looks like your ward employment specialist should be able to request access, if they are listed in the standard employment specialist calling.
