Updating stake callings on the new website
Since the transition over to the new website, I'm finding a disconnect between what is in MLS and what is on the web. That said, I can't seem to figure out how to update the callings in the new format on the web. If I go to the "classic version" it doesn't update the new version. Does any one have any tips or suggestions for me?

Callings entered on the "classic" ward and stake websites can only be entered manually and have absolutely no connection to MLS or to the new Directory on lds.org.jesse0hansen wrote:Since the transition over to the new website, I'm finding a disconnect between what is in MLS and what is on the web. However, callings entered in MLS are indeed connected to the Church Directory of Organizations and Leaders (CDOL), which is then connected to the Leadership section of the new Directory. That connection should be automatic (with some delays for processing). So if you enter callings in MLS, using the correct standard callings, they should show up on the new Directory.
The new Directory takes its calling information directly from CDOL, so those are always in sync. However, MLS is not always perfectly in sync with CDOL. If you find this to be the case, follow the steps for Correcting duplicate or missing callings.

Callings can not be updated from within the new directory, or from any other menu or application on lds.org, but only through MLS on the clerk computer as aebrown described. That may be a feature sometime in the future. But for now the callings can only be updated by using MLS.jesse0hansen wrote:Thanks. That makes sense. How do I go about updating callings on the new website? I can't seem to find the admin functions for it. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

There is no administrative function for callings on the new website. A clerk enters the callings in MLS (not on the website) and then they are transmitted to CDOL, which is where the Directory gets its information on callings.jesse0hansen wrote:Thanks. Just to be clear on this, simply record the calling in MLS using a standard position and it will automatically sync to the new directory. Stake callings need to be entered in the Stake MLS.

Actually custom positions are now showing on the new directory as well. There isn't anything on the directory that sets them apart, but they show up.RussellHltn wrote:jesse0hansen wrote:How do I go about updating callings on the new website?jdlessley wrote:Callings can not be updated from within the new directory, or from any other menu or application on lds.org, but only through MLS on the clerk computer as aebrown described.

That's good to know, but I assume it's still the case that custom callings confer no rights to any applications, so it's still better to use standardized callings whenever practical.
