New Bishop
I am a stake assistant clerk. I was just contacted by a newly called Bishop and asked how he get new stationary. My understanding is that this is automatic as long as Salt Lake has his correct address. Is this correct of is there something I can do?

Looks like there is conflicting information in that thread. Alan says he believes stationary ordering is automatic. rpyne says you have to call and order after the CDOL is updated. PNMarkW2 says he got his order before CDOL was updated. I just wonder what I should tell this new Bishop about getting his stationary.

Stationery ordering is not automatic. You have to call. Usually, the order goes to the bishop listed in the CDOL, but it appears that PNMarkW2 was able to swing that differently, or else the timing was accurate and the CDOL had just been updated.wrigjef wrote:Looks like there is conflicting information in that thread. But for stationery, someone has to order it.

I'll second that. It wasn't until I called the Distribution Ctr and asked for envelopes (some 3 months after the Bishop had been called) that we got them.

And this makes sense. LDS Distribution does not know if the new bishop is going to print stickers and use the old envelopes. And the letterhead does not change. It has the the same ward at the top as before and does not specifically list the bishop.allenjpl wrote:I'll second that.
