Broadcasting Meetings

#1

Post by binghamb »

Maybe there is already a way and I am not aware of it, is there a way to recieve General meetings ( general priesthood, general leadership etc...) via internet instead of satellite feed? I am the stake tech. Specialist and ISP admin in my stake and we have fiber optic to the stake center and bandwidth is not a problem.

The reason I ask is because when ever we have a broadcast over the satellite it is always cutting out on us. Anything we can do? Is there and secured feed via internet?

There are some restrictions, but it can be done. See this post.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

While there maybe some options for most broadcasts, I think you need to get with satellite support to work out the problems you are experiencing.

When you say it "cuts out", what exactly happens?
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

RussellHltn is correct, there are various reasons your system may cut out durring a broadcast, and none of them are easily solved, so to make sure it is all working for the next broadcast, we will want to get started early. Also, If you have not already done so, you should inform your FM group that you have had an issue.

The Roku media streaming device would work nicely if you are looking for something other than the satellite, install the Mormon Channel and watch the live broadcast events (don't know about Priesthood session, I went to a building with a satellite for that one)
