Cisco 881 W Wireless Question

#1

Post by harddrive »

I'm a network engineer and I know that the distance of wireless depends on the construction of the building.

I'm looking to add FIOS (Fiber Optics) connection to our building that was built over 40 years ago. It is concrete block and if I get it, i would probably put it in the satellite cabinet that is in the library (media center). The cabinet is metal and looks like it is 19" rack.

Now the question becomes what is the range of this wireless or should I saw what is the power? The reason that I ask is that I have one building where I have 4 Cisco Aeronets. I recently put one in another building, similar floor plan, but all concrete block and the D-Link I put it covers the entire building. Not great, but it is only one device.

thanks for letting me know.
