Spreadsheet of key indicators?

#1

Post by wingated »

Hi all -- first post here. I'm an executive secretary for an Area Seventy, and I'm trying to gather some statistics on our coordinating councils.

My question is how best to gather that data.

I have access to the "Church Secure Access Portal" hosted at https://secure.ldschurch.org/dana/home/index.cgi, and from there I have access to the "Church Information Resource" (CIR).

From the CIR, I can view all of the data that I want -- key indicators for coordinating councils, tithing indicators, etc.

However, the data is being delivered via some sort of kludgy Java app (something about arcplan?). I can see the numbers, but I can't cut and paste them, or download them in any sort of electronic format.

Obviously, I can go through and manually copy the numbers. But it seems like there must be a better way.

Is there a more up-to-date tool somewhere that gives access to this same information in a more reasonable way?

(Note that because we're associated with the area, we don't seem to have access to the Leader portal -- we're not in any stake presidency...)

Any help would be appreciated. Hopefully I'm just missing the elephant in the room!

Thanks,

-- David

Welcome to the forum! I don't have any experience with "Church Secure Access Portal" hosted at https://secure.ldschurch.org/dana/home/index.cgi" or "CIR" so I won't be able to help, and judging from the lack of response, others might not as well. Have you tried sending feedback to the developers using a link from within your application (assuming there is one.) As you know, many of us here are users like yourself. When I want to manipulate data, the new tools in "leadership tools" on LDS.org aren't much help, and MLS is much more useful when I need to export data to my spreadsheet.
