Hi im currently serving as the stake exec sec and would love to have an iphone app that made scheduling appointments for interviews easy and then sending the informaation to either google calendar or even sync to the stake presidencies iphone devices.
I would like to see the following functions:
1) Set to Stake or Bishopric mode (to be used for both ward and stake exec sec)
2) default list of Interviewers ie Stake President, 1st Couns, 2nd Couns or Bishop, 1st, 2nd etc and the ability to add custom names and more interviewers
3) Ability to set days in the month in advance when interviews will be conducted with a start and end time with interview interval times set to either 15mins or 30mins ie If Stake President interviews on a Tues night from 7pm to 9pm and usually takes 30mins for interviews i would like to see in some kind of calendar format the following:
7:00pm
7:30pm
8:00pm
8:30pm
with the ability to select a time slot and enter interviewee's details but then to also extend the interview time if required to 1 hour or more and it automatically blank out the necessary time slots.
4) Default and custom selectable reasons for the interview ie Temple Recommend, Melchizedek Priesthood Ordination, Personal, Calling, Releasing, PPI etc
5) Ability to email the schedule to all or select who from the interviewer list and or sync with their own iphone device.
I have other functions i think would be useful but at its most basic level i think this kind of app would make scheduling interviews so much easier. Any iphone developers out there think this is possible and easy to do? I certainly couldn't do it but would love to see it happen.
what are other peoples thoughts?

On http://lds.org/leader you should see the Member Focus List under Resources (you have to sign in to lds.org to see this area). Your stake president can see the same thing. You can select members to focus on, and it keeps track of their last interview.nihonjin wrote:What interviews section are you referring to im not familiar with it and cannot find it. Can you please post a link.
Documentation is available at Leader and Clerk Resources Overview.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

The interview section of lds.org is well completely insufficient. As an executive secretary there are a bunch of features that are missing. First, it provides the list of members, there is no way to just add a member to the list. Second you can't specify who the interview is for. Also, as far as I can tell it doesn't sync with the calendar.
I would love to see someone work on an app that allows you to easily schedule appointments. I image using the directory and allowing you to just pick a name and set up an interview for that individual. Is anyone aware of any efforts to make apps for church leadership positions?

Re: iPhone Developers for Exec Sec interview scheduling app
You can share the calendar with the stake presidency. All of you can then add the calendar to your phones.
Sharing a calendar with other Google Account holders: http://support.google.com/calendar/bin/ ... swer=37082
Update: The calendar should then appear on the stake presidency's phones if they added their account and enabled calendar syncing. If not, all they need to do is this. Go to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars. If the account's in the phone, tap it and enable calendars. If not, tap "Add Account," then tap "Gmail." You or they should be able to figure out how to add the account from there.
