Moving buildings, switching banks?

#1

Post by kylehart »

I was asked to look into this and did not find it in the wiki or the Financial clerk training.

Our ward is moving to a new building several miles away. We want to find a local bank there to deposit donation batches.

We may want to use a different "Brand" of bank. What is the process to switch deposit institutions in the USA?

Thanks

The Finance Department will need to help you. They have the list of banks you can use, and will then help you in setting up to deposit in one of those branches nearer to your new location.

I sent you a private message of the contact you need to get a hold of. Depending on what area you're in there's a list of banks you can choose from. Any ward can switch banks even if the ward doesn't move. It will take 2-4 weeks to switch banks, receive new deposit slips, etc.
