Member Types?

Is there currently or will there be any meaning to the different member types? I've noticed that there are several member types listed to members: New Member, Junior Member, Member.

Tom Welch answered this in the Planning for the ranks thread although
he used New Member, Member, and Senior Member.

Basically, it's based on number of posts.
<30 is New Member
30-100 is Member
100+ is Senior Member

I think it would be funny to list people with zero posts
as "Lurker" but it probably wouldn't go over too well,
because according to the membership directory it looks
that about 80% of the members are just reading for now.

And "Lurker" is not something I would want to be known as. Some people use these forums for communication while others use them just to gather information.

You can search this forum's member list by location:
  • Click on "Members List" in the main menu of the Forum.
  • Click on "Search Members" (this is not the "Search" on the main menu, but is on the right, just above the member list)
  • Choose "Advanced Search"
  • Enter a value (such as "Italy") in the Location field
  • Hit the "Search Now" button (or just press Enter)

Members are not required to enter their location, so this technique can certainly miss some people. But if the data isn't entered, there's no way to search on it.

Unfortunately, it seems that you are the only member who has specified Italy for the location. My grandmother was Italian -- does that help?

Thanks. Now I'm feeling less alone.
