Bring back Plain scriptures

#1

Post by JohnkWebb-p40 »

is it possible to just bring back plane boaring scriptures so members can copy and paste in to word and not get all the extra stuff like. UAdd a Note

at the end of each verse and all foot noted words in difrent font and colour.

i'm not a fan of the new site. bring back the old.

the new looks good but not very functional.

There should be a link on the right side of the screen with the name Hide Footnotes which will remove all of the footnotes so you can easily copy and paste to other programs.

Both the old scriptures site and new scriptures site have a single click way to remove the footnotes. For the new scriptures site, it is to the right of the scriptural text. There is a column of links: Listen, Print, Download, Share, My Study Notebook, Hide Footnotes.

That last option will quickly hide all the footnotes and give you plain text that is more suitable for copying and pasting. The footnotes are great for studying, so I would not want them gone all the time. That quick link makes it easy to hide them when I do want to copy the text.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

Misread leads to an idea

I misread the post thinking it said plane boarding scriptures
and thought of airplanes. Wouldn't it be interesting if in
addition to SkyMall and the other publications in passenger
airplanes the church were to supply complimentary copies
of the Book of Mormon to read. Somewhat like you will find
Books of Mormon next to Gideon Bibles in hotel rooms.

Seems something President Uchtdorf could negotiate with
airlines. Or at least a few pass-a-long cards or church
videos for the holidays.
