MLS 3.2.4 Problems

#1

Post by msnow73-p40 »

We recieved the 3.2.4 download for MLS and after the download I restarted the computer and tried to log into MLS and received this error message (java.lang.nullpointerexception - this is a serious problem that will prevent you from logging in until it is resolved). Now we cannot log into MLS at all. I have tried to contact Salt Lake this morning for help but due to high call volume they are not answering so I thought I would ask the question here. Does anyone know how to fix this situation? Thanks for any suggestions.

Generally these kinds of problems can be fixed by downloading the full installer for MLS from the MLS download site and installing it that way. Work with your stake technology specialist on this.

Ok, I tried downloading 3.2.4 from the mls.lds.org website and still get the same problem. Any other suggestions? The stake technology specialist was not available so he has yet to address the issue. Thanks!

The wiki has additional options at MLS installation and repair. In particular, the section on Clean Installation may give you some helpful tips. But be careful with that approach -- it might be good to copy the entire C:\Program Files\LDS Church\MLS folder to a safe place before embarking on that procedure. If that procedure seems at all scary to you, I'd recommend waiting for the STS to help you.

We finally got a hold of Salt Lake and they did a complete uninstall and reinstall of MLS and found several corrupted files in the process. Now we are able to log into MLS. Thanks for the help, your time and effort. This forum/website is a great resource, I would be lost without it.
