Does this mean that as of Nov 10, when we use the url: lds.org, we will be opening the "new" lds.org?

That seems to be what the posting on the current lds.org web site infers. Although they make reference to the "old site" being available for a while, they don't provide any information on how that will be done. I'd suggest we just wait until Nov 10th and see what happens :)

The LDS Media Talk blog indicates that there are still a number of areas being rewritten, and are not complete. You'll still be able to go back to what we now know as lds.org, the 'classic' site will still be available to some extent for some time.

I've isolated the blog post as between now and then there will be other posts, this has links that will be useful for some of the content that does not have a new page for it yet.

New LDS.ORG Switched Into Place

It would appear that the new.lds.org web site has been swapped into place a little early. If you try to go to http://www.lds.org you are now redirected to http://new.lds.org

A better list of links to the old site is available from the new homepage. Here's that for handy reference.

Edit: I retract my above statement. For about 10 minutes the above was true. Now it appears to have gone back to its previous condition. Obviously there's some experimentation going on.

Someone has been messing with the system. For a while I couldn't get to tech.lds.org - at all. Not even lds.org would come up.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

Hmmm. I'm not seeing that. When I go to http://www.lds.org, I still go to the old site.

Confirmed that 'lds.org' is the old site again, some testing may have been going on as thought, but I caught it while it was showing the new site. The new site even loaded better than the beta normally does, especially the graphical material in the rotating main panel. That's a sign that things will work better once out of beta.
