New.Lds.Org / Feedback Link Broken

#1

Post by techgy »

I was attempting to upload a photo to my own family on the new.lds.org web site and received the error message
There was a problem with your upload. Please try again later.
In addition, the Feedback link generates a Error 404, which if memory serves me correctly is an error indicating that a file cannot be found.

Uploading a photo worked fine for me just now, so maybe the "try back later" message was accurate.

Yes, the link goes to

https://new.lds.org/https%3a//www.allegiancetech.com/CustomerFeedback/FeedbackLoop.aspx%3fcompanyId%3d1832636%26selectedStructure%3d11340%26hh%3d1%26hf%3d1%26whichOne%3d3%26autoLocation%3d1%26note=Home+Page+-+Beta%3aHomepage

but if you just remove the https://new.lds.org/ from the beginning and URL decode the remainder you get the right link:

https://www.allegiancetech.com/Customer ... a/Homepage

So that's an obvious problem where some developer incorrectly made the full path of the external allegiancetech site relative to new.lds.org. It's a super easy fix -- you can use the corrected Feedback link above to report it.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

I just made another attempt and received the same message.
Thanks for the modified URL. I'll report the problem.

Edit: I just realized that the problem's related to the fact that we already had a photo, but it wasn't displaying. If I clicked on the red "x" to delete the photo, then I was successful in uploading another.
