Wrong Language

#1

Post by KenRichins »

On the LUWS I have 1 member who has the web site display in SPANISH. He does NOT use the Spanish Language. I have checked ALL the websites in the Stake and the default is set to English. I had them goto ldsaccount.lds.org and edit their Profile to set the default to English. He reported that it was on english, But he changed it to spanish then went back and put it on english again, saving each time.

Bottom line Every time he goes to his ward web site it displayes in english! had him try the Beta.lds.org Directory and he says that also displays in Spanish. ANY Ideas on how to correct this?

I don't know what else to try to correct the display.

Sometimes it's a browser setting that got there by mistake, as you might want him go to http://wiki.familysearch.org and see if that comes up in English like it does for most of us here.

If it comes up in any other language (there are about five right now) than English, it's a browser setting, if not, it's likely a deeper technical thing that is going on with the site.

LUWS default language settings

LUWS has separate language settings from LDS Account. Have him sign in to LUWS and then select the "Update Profile" link in the top right toolbar. In the Language section, select the language you would like the headings on the stake and ward web site displayed in. It defaults to whatever the ward is set to, but it can be manually set here to English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
