reconciling membership updates

#1

Post by colbyj-p40 »

In an effort to clean up some of our ward directories in support of potential stake decisions, I've been working with some of the unit clerks to update their membership records. In one unit, we had many members still listed as members who had long since moved out. We scrubbed all the directories and I asked the clerks to update their directories.

I received feedback from the clerks that this was complete. However, when I go to "individual record" on MLS and type in the name of a person who I know has moved and should not be in the directory any more, this person still pops up. The clerk tells me he moved out the records.

Could there be a disconnect somewhere? Or should I revisit this with the clerk to see where the error may have occured. It is like this for many of the people who he should have moved out...but they still show up in the "individual record."

thank you

Local Unit Web Site, also known as Stake and Ward Websites hosted on lds.org (http://wards.lds.org)
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

LUWS = Local Unit Web Site.

http://www.lds.org/units or ward.lds.org

No luck. The ward in question responded to me that in their ward MLS their overall ward membership is nearly 70 members less than what I am showing. This ward has been working to clean out old records of people who moved in and out. They have been doing this over the past several months. I have a list of folks who have moved. The ward confirms they have moved out these records and they no longer show in the ward directory. However, when I pull up the ward info on my stake MLS these names still show and there has been no change to the overall ward membership number. This has not changed in weeks, dare I say months. I'm at a loss as to how this gets fixed.

You might try contacting MLS support in SLC at (801) 240-3500 and see if they can help. Is the problem only with a single ward or several?
Have you read the Code of Conduct?

What was the result of checking the website?

If the website shows the members are still there, then the ward clerk needs to call support. If the ward website shows what the clerks say it should be, then you, the stake, needs to call.

disconnect between ward and stake MLS

#10

Post by colbyj-p40 »

the ward website does not list the members, so it appears the ward MLS and ward website are in synch. For some reason my stake MLS still shows the members in question as part of the ward. And we're talking nearly 50 members. I've done multiple send/receives, and this has been over a period of weeks. Not sure what to do, call the MLS phone number listed in this thread?
