We have an sony vpl-cs2 projector that the button for menu, input, on off do not respond. Any thoughts, is it worth the cost to repair. It works on input A but input A stays on the screen. We can not use it on a satellite broadcast because the video rca jack input doesn't come up.

thanks

You didn't say if you are in a ward or stake and what your calling is. If you are in a ward I'd contact the Stake Technology Specialist and get him involved. If you are that person, then the FM group should be notified as they are responsible for the repairs or replacements. They would make the decision as to whether it's cost effective to repair.
Have you read the Code of Conduct?

Stake, stake tech brought it to us. H.C. man over F.M. said there is not funds in F.M. to replace it and the stake will have to replace it or repair it. Also we tried the remote control and it doesn't control the projector either.

It sounds like a button is physically stuck down. Check the buttons carefully and wiggle them from side to side. You may be able to unstuck it. Assuming this is a projector for satellite broadcasts, I think the FM group has to deal with it. Take the matter up with the stake president. If this is a 'extra' projector then it may well be the stakes responsibility.

checked the on off button and the physical button is not stuck but the button on the IC board doesn't snap or click like the other buttons on the IC board. The question is is the cost of repairing against buying a new one that has 3 times the lumens a better investment than throwing money into the old one. Also where does one find the policy of replacement of stake projectors? Any suggestion on brands and models of new projectors?

thanks

I don't know where you can find it. It just strikes me as wrong that the FM group can deny replacing defective church-issued equipment. (You might want to check and make sure it's the FMG and not the High Council Rep saying "no".) If you just said it was "old" that would be one thing. But it's no longer able to do what it was issued to do (church satellite broadcasts).

You could give clerk support a call.

well it was the HC rep that talked to FM and they responded that it was our responsibility. So I'll call clerk support and see what we can get done there.
