Local Ward and Stake Employment Jobs Board

#1

Post by crees »

A Member of the Stake Presidency and the Stake Employment Specialilst have come to me with some ideas that I would like bring to the board. I did a search on the forum for the idea but havent found it yet.

Basically the "idea" is to have a place for emploment specialists to list local job postings on the church ward / stake websites. When posting are made at the stake level all wards within the stake will be notified. This could also be a place where members can keep tabs on whats avaliable locally.

Thanks in advance

I know there are already LDS employment services and such but this would be a tool where those who have been called to the employment services calling (ward or stake level) can collaborate and post local jobs. this would be another great way to encourage members to visit the church ward / stake websites to keep on latest postings and activities.

While not an ideal way of getting the information for jobs postings listed on the LUWS the News and Information section can be used. An item titled appropriately could include the listing information. Even a document created offline and then added as an attachment could be used. This is a viable work-around until a more robust addition to the LUWS can be included for this area.

This method would not provide a notice from the stake to ward when a posting is added. But the stake employment specialist could send a copy of the information they have to the ward specialists or even an electronic document that the ward specialist could post or use in their posting on the ward site.

Try the "New Beta LDS Employment Resources Services Web Site" at
ldsjobs.org

Lets hope that when it goes live that there will be a link from our local units web page (LUWS)

Any ward or stake website administrator can add jobs.lds.org to the Additional Web Resources section right now.

This is also what I recommended for the stake. Perhaps in the future the LUWS could pull a XML feed from the ldsjobs website. Or better yet I guess a web resource link could be placed with a querystring.

Thanks for the feedback
