I'm a Stake Technology Specialist and we are getting ready to do some ward website training with the leadership of each ward.
I was starting to put together some slides and handouts for the presentation and I was wondering if another stake already has something that we could use as a starting point and would be willing to share with us.
This is more directed towards the ward leadership and not just ward members -- so, of course I will talk about the first-time login process, but I will be more concerned with covering topics so that the ward leadership (bishopric and ward auxiliaries) is aware of and knows how to participate in items like:
Submitting calendar events
Submitting news items (including attachments, photos)
Submitting full-time missionary experiences
Once the ward leadership is trained and functioning with their ward website -- then we will concentrate on a more general training session for the rest of the members of the stake.
Ward Website Training?

I am working on a Power Point
I'm a Stake Technology Specialist also and am getting ready to do some ward/Stake website training with the leadership of each ward also.
I am in about the same status as you. I have found great help by printing out the complete HELP section.
(I know I should save a tree, but I HOPE the users will read it better if it is in printed form. Don't tell Bill Gates!)
I think that you HAVE to talk about the first-time login process.
And the following topics do have to be there:
Submitting calendar events
Submitting news items (including attachments, photos)
Submitting full-time missionary experiences
I get quite a few requests from the general Ward membership via telephone for input. I don't mind that tho. I enter it for them.
I DO NOT have a BLDG key. We only record the event and let the person find a key.
Keep me in mind here in Ogden if you get some more helps/training.

I created a WORD document intended for ward members, which explains the main sections of the website. It also gives step-by-step instructions for posting calendar items, updating their profile, etc.
Perhaps the most important part of the document is the step-by-step instructions for setting up their account, resetting a forgotten password, etc. I merge the document with their membership number and confirmation date (saved from MLS) and email or print it for them. This seems to have been quite successful for us.
Let me know if anyone is interested in getting a copy. I'd be happy to share.

It would be nice if you posted the file here on the forum for others to access. You can attach files when you create a post on the thread.
