webcast communicator, must be on church recognized address

#1

Post by mellerbeck-p40 »

Can someone verify if the communicator\viewer must originate from a church ip address. I am looking to use clearwire as a backup broadcast channel, and it dosn't seem to work. I also brought to communicator home to mess around with and so far haven't been able to get it to work through my FIOS connection. The communicator passes all of its tests just fine, and it thinks its broadcasting OK. But I haven't been able to pull it up. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Michael

Michael,

Unless something has changed recently, I have been able to start the communicator and receive the stream from home and other non-church locations without problems.

Make sure you are using the appropriate web address to receive the broadcast: http://stream.lds.org/<config_unit_numb ... g_6_digits>

where <config_unit_number> = the unit number you configured on the device and <config_6_digits> = the 6 digits you entered into the communicator upon creating the webcast.

It just didn't like to fire up windows media player from within IE 8 on windows 7. Firefox worked fine as well as opening the url from within windows media player.
