Note for Bro. Clarke: the new familysearch gives screen resolution error messages with at least the ASUS EeePC brand of netbooks. Since these lightweight computers are growing in popularity, could family history consider adjusting the UI to accomodate these computers?

First, well-deserved congratulations to Alan!
I wish I had taken notes, so someone correct me if I get these details wrong. There were some nuggets of news to me:

- A beta of a maps application is already in progress, with an early focus on getting the geocoding data corrected interactively.
- An upcoming beta (did I hear by the end of the year?) of certain MLS-like features online.
- Obviously there are community-developed, LUWS-like functions in the works right now, including new calendaring and ward-directory modules. I am still trying to understand how these community-based modules fit in with the larger LUWS site, which I gather is not being wholly replaced after all but enhanced.

My understanding has been that their goal is to replace the features in a piecemeal fashion. I think they are starting with the most in-demand and historically lacking features. Perhaps they are trying to break apart the monster into more manageable modules.boomerbubba wrote:
