July 2009 Missionary Payments

#1

Post by birdld-p40 »

Due to some system problems, the July 2009 monthly missionary withdrawals have not been posted on the July 2009 Church Unit Financial Statement. This may also affect some of the payment changes made during this month. We are working to get this resolved. Thank you for your understanding.

workaround ?

#2

Post by atticusewig »

What is the recommended workaround ?

Temporary adjustments on the reconciliation ?

Not-a-check entries with incomplete data (say using
"FIXME" as the reference number, and changing the
entries when the data becomes available) ?

Or is it just better to wait until later in the month,
when an updated CUFS will be sent down the wire?

Thanks,

I'd just wait until the correct statements are available, or we receive further notice. It's only August 3rd, so I see no need to rush and do anything you might have to redo in a week or so anyway.

You will just do the reconciliation process the same with the exception of recording the missionary payments. Since the payments will not be posted on the July 2009 statement, then you will not make any entries for them.

When the problem is fixed, the payments will post on the current Church Unit Finance Statement (CUFS). They will not be posted with a July date so no updated July statement will be sent. The missionary payments will be entered with the date that they post on the statement (i.e. if the July payments post on August 7, 2009 then you would use that date when you record the payments in MLS). When you enter this in MLS you may want to note on the purpose that this is for July's payment.

FYI, the July 2009 missionary payments have been posted on the August 2009 CUFS as of today. :)
