I am serving in a nonnative language branch that has combined YM/YW/Primary organizations with a native language ward from the Stake. We have a challenge in managing callings in these organizations because we don't have insight into the callings that are filled from the native language ward in LCR and they don't have insight into the callings from our branch in LCR. Does anyone else have a branch setup this way and how do you keep track of the callings from the shared organizations? Is this something that LDSTech could work on to make LCR have shared organizations for these cases?
Thanks!
Branch clerk

That would have to be done by the church developers on a schedule and priority established by the Priesthood Department. You can put in the suggestion via the feedback link in LCR.bodenw wrote:Is this something that LDSTech could work on to make LCR have shared organizations for these cases?

Re: Nonnative language Branch with YM/YW/Primary combined with native language ward
I would recommend creating out-of-unit records for each leader in the other ward. For example, if the Primary president is in the native-speaking ward, you can create an out-of-unit membership record for her in the foreign-speaking ward. That way, she can hold the "Primary President" calling in both wards, will have access to all of the people and tools in her stewardship from both wards, and will be visible on both ward directories. The same can be done for each member of the Young Men, Young Women, and Primary presidencies.

Re: Nonnative language Branch with YM/YW/Primary combined with native language ward
I have this exact situation and have added the Primary & YW Presidents as Out-of-Unit members in the foreign language Branch and made them the Presidents of their respective combined Auxiliaries in the Branch. They are still unable to see records for the youth/children in the Branch in either L&CR or LDS Tools (after syncing). Is there something else that needs to be done to grant them access?

You might need to wait 24 hours after recoding the calling for the computers sync up before syncing LDS Tools.

Thank you. I will ask the Presidents to check tomorrow. We verified that they both show up as Presidents in the Out-of-Unit Branch, but membership information for the youth/children was locked out.

The Primary president appears to be configured correctly. The most likely issue is that she doesn't know how to switch between "callings."
Having both callings doesn't mean that the two wards will be combined in LCR for her. She will need to switch between wards to see the children in that ward.
If you have her look at the LCR page, there will be a drop list highlighted in yellow just below the gray menu bar. That allows her to switch between her role as Primary president of the ward and Primary president of the branch.
