Unable to sync LDS Tools
I am using both a Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus as well as a Samsung Tab 4. With both I am getting the same error message. It reads LDS tools services are unavailable please try again later. I have tried it every day of the week every hour of the day and I get the same message. If I go to my browser and go to LDS. Org I can then access it that way which is a little inconvenient. Is there any way that this can be fixed. I'm on a mission and I really need to get in contact with people. Thank you

I just now synced with my Pixel and it worked fine "over the air". Are you using the same LDS Account for both the devices and the web browser? Are they using the same network? It's possible some networks prevent LDS Tools from working.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

Does it start syncing and then times out? Or do you get the error right at the beginning? I believe missionaries get access to the wards they are assigned to and if the mission has you assigned to a large number of wards that might cause timeouts.

Yes it starts and the about 80% of the way it stops and tells me the LDS site is not available. I am only assigned one stake (where I live)jonesrk wrote:Does it start syncing and then times out? I'm a Stake Clerk ( Technology Specialist ) who has a couple FROM our Stake ... serving a Full-Time Mission ... IN our Stake. Their situation is identical to "PapaNoHair" who has made the posts above.
Their Android Phones and Tablets won's sync LDS Tools ... but only SINCE their call as missionaries ... it worked perfectly before their call.
Now as trouble shooters, you're going to ask me about their Android devices, what OS are the devices using, who are their carriers ( Verizon, At&T, T-Mobile), etc.
I ERASED an iPod and 2 Android Phones ( both with different carriers and differing OS Versions ) and an Android Tablet ( with still a another Android OS ) ...
ALL of the devices would sync LDS Tools if I use MY LDS Username and Password. All of the Androids fail if I use either of the LDS Usernames of the Couple Serving the Full-Time Mission in their OWN Stake ... BUT ... on the Apple iPod everything works, with everyone's Usernames and Passwords all the time ...
So ... if a person is 1. Serving a Full-Time Mission is the same Stake in which they Reside ... and 2. Is using an Android Device ... LDS Tools will not download onto their device ... until after they are released, and become full-time members of their home unit.
However ... if they are using an Apple Device ... there is no problem.
And this wouldn't be a big issue EXCEPT that the Church is moving away from Apple and adopting Androids more and more ... so this problem will occur more often in the future.

I am also having this issue on my Samsung s6. I am a full time senior missionary, acting Branch President and I am getting about 80% sync and it says the service is not available try again later. It started about april1st 2018. I can get tools to work on IPad but not Samsung. Tried at church WiFi, home WiFi will not work. Uninstalled app re installed app no change. Fails

Running the Beta version and the problem is solved! Thanks for the input that helped bring this to the LDS Techs attention!
